Juice Cleanse Detox, 28 of 40 Days – When to Say When
Today is day #28 of this 40 day juice cleanse and detox, I feel amazing! One thing I will say about this cleanse is that it would be much harder to maintain such equilibrium and consistency if it were winter time.
Having done cleanses in all types of different climates and temperatures I can say without a doubt, (in the midst of my longest cleanse ever) the summer is the best time to cleanse!
When I cleanse in colder weather my extremities (fingers and toes) get cold and it feels like my body temperature drops a few degrees. I haven’t had any experiences like that 28 days into this cleanse and it feels great.
Knowing When to Say When
This morning when Brother James arrived to the Open Source Truck I asked him how his cleanse was going after not having seen him in a couple days and he said he quit the night before. I wasn’t really surprised as he had never done a cleanse before and doing a cleanse for your first time without group support definitely isn’t a walk in the park.
After talking with James it was apparent he really wanted to finish the cleanse but was dealing with some physical issues stemming from a traumatic car accident not too long ago. This I found interesting because it illustrates how the body will try to repair both physical and emotional trauma. I thought to myself perhaps James got an overload of healing and it was a bit too intense.
Nevertheless I am very proud of James, getting through 3 full days of an all juice cleanse for his first attempt is absolutely amazing! I think now that he’s had a taste of the fire, he’ll know better what to expect next time and will be ready for whatever intensity, emotions, feelings or trauma that arise.
Cleansing and detoxing is like going through fire for sure and just like fire it leaves you clean, pure and changed forever.
It is ultimately up to the individual how much they want to put themselves through, how much heat they can take. Never let others around you push you too far so that you are doing something you’re not ready for or feel uncomfortable.
Each person is on his or her own individual journey and it’s enough when you say it’s enough. You have to know when to say when, with that said it is also the individuals responsibility to be 100% honest with themselves and discern the difference between, habits, cravings, emotions, trauma, etc.
May each and every one of us have the courage to explore the world of cleansing, detoxing and other modalities that help to improve our health, well being and happiness!
